Finally, I have found some time in my day to start planning fitness classes for those around me.
Starting June 5th, I will be hosting a 2 week series of a total of 4 classes to get my name out & test out my group fitness instructor skills. This will give me the chance to figure out my own style of teaching, what classes my friends & family want to participate in, and much more valuable information for future sessions.
I will admit I am just in the beginning stages of planning classes for others. Your feedback will be very important to me.
I intend to focus each class on clearing the mind of stress and strengthening the mental and physical body. I have listed some additional information below to help those who may be confused or uncomfortable. This will be hosted in a non-judgemental, outdoor environment, full of smiles, joy and encouragement.
WHICH CLASS TO CHOOSE? Each of these classes are similar to workouts I perform myself and encourage others to start doing. Similarly, they both are meant to be stress relievers to all participants and will focus on connecting the mind and body to better yourself. I have faith that you need to challenge yourself to make something change so be prepared to sweat!
CIRCUIT TRAINING: This is available for all ages and levels. I will provide progressions and regressions to accommodate for each individual. Each "circuit" (3 exercises) will be performed 3 times at differing intervals. All exercises will be using your own bodyweight & will include a small amount of cardio. The purpose of this class is to boost up your heart rate, strengthen the full body and clear the mind.
YOGA STRENGTH: This is an intermediate yoga fitness class. A basic understanding of yoga is suggested although is not mandatory as I will guide you through it all. We will go through flows of simple yoga poses and then progress into bodyweight exercises in certain poses. The purpose of this class is to strengthen the body and mind through faster-paced flows, increase the heart rate and open the eyes to your body's own abilities.
HOW SHOULD I PREPARE? -Bring lots of water (sun may still be shining on us) -Bring a Yoga mat -Wear proper fitness attire -Have a good attitude -Arrive a couple minutes early
DO I HAVE TO PAY? All classes are by a non-mandatory donation.
WHERE? Fruitvale Elementary school field near the basketball court. We may need to move to lower field, depending on grass.
