We’re both C-IAYT Certified Yoga Therapists, brought together during our two-year yoga therapy program—and we instantly clicked. We’re nature-loving nerds who love to hike, take care of our bodies, and keep learning how to live well after years of discovering what truly supports us.
We’re passionate about sharing the wisdom we’ve gathered through life, our trainings, and the many clients and students who have shaped us along the way. We believe we’re all students on our own path, and that there is always something to learn, share, and discover together.
Our retreats are grounded in a trauma-informed, choice-centered approach, creating space for you to explore what feels good, meaningful, and supportive for your own experience.
Our vision is to create transformative spaces where you can reconnect with your inner rhythm and find greater balance within body, mind, and spirit. Through intentional presence, connection with nature, and the wisdom of the seasons, we invite you to soften, release stress, restore calm, and awaken a renewed sense of clarity and vitality. Our hope is that the seeds you plant during our time together continue to grow long after you leave..rippling gently into the way you move through your body, your life, and the world. Come as you are. Leave a little more connected to yourself.
Accommodations at The Sentinel Nestled deep within the lush forests of the Kootenay's, The Sentinel offers a serene escape where time slows and nature embraces you fully. This lake reflects the towering mountaintops, while winding trails invite you to wander beneath moss-covered trees. Here, the air feels pure, helping you breath deeper. This is a place that holds you gently—offering space to pause, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the natural rhythm of life.
Mindful & Nourishing Meals The team at the Sentinel prides themselves in offering farm to table dining, curating meals with as many local items as they can. You will receive all meals catered throughout this event to ensure you are fully nourished for yoga, sauna & self care. We can work with any dietary restrictions necessary.
Daily Therapeutic Yoga Sessions Led by Abby & Krystal, each day begins meeting in the Maloca (our dedicated, sacred practice space) for a chance to breathe, move, connect & surrender before what's ahead. In the evenings, we will meet again to rest with restorative & yin yoga plus yoga nidra mediations to nourish your nervous system. As yoga therapists, we specialize in creating a space that works with all body types & abilities. All yoga session are optional of course. Cedar Sauna, Outdoor Hottub & Copper Cold PLunge Tucked into the forest along the serene shoreline, The Sentinel allows us 24/7 access to the spa services whenever and wherever we need them. This includes a gorgeous cedar sauna, a nourishing cedar hottub + an optional cold plunge for those who need it (or the lake is right there!) We want to make sure you have as many opportunities as possible to treat yourself throughout this experience.
Opening Circle & Fire Ceremony Our retreat begins with a sacred Opening Circle—a heartfelt invitation to arrive fully, set intentions, and connect deeply with yourself and the group. Guided by both of us, we’ll begin with grounding breath and gentle movement before offering a land acknowledgment to honor the Sinixt peoples, the ancestors, and the spirit of this land. We'll introduce ourselves & why we are here for this retreat, offering deeper connection to each of the attendees for a proper introduction to all.
Forest Bathing, Altar Creation & Lakeside Meditation We’ll spend time together exploring the forested trails surrounding The Sentinel, letting nature guide us into stillness and presence. This slow, mindful walk becomes a moving meditation—each step a chance to soften, listen, and feel the grounding energy of the earth beneath your feet. In a quiet clearing, we’ll pause for a guided meditation, breathing in the cedar-scented air and opening to the wisdom of the natural world.
