After first discovering yoga during high school & college to help with anxiety as a student, her goal is to now share the benefits of this traditional practice with the world. Abby has been practising yoga for over 13 years, teaching for 6 and is now a certified Yoga Therapist with the C-IAYT. Focusing on alignment & nervous system practices to connect the mind, body & soul for a deeper understanding of the self, she emphasizes listening to & learning about your own body while attaining balance in life.
My Story Yoga offered Abby a space to reconnect with her body, after years of dissociating, and step out of the constant pull of overthinking. As a former student-athlete, she now recognizes how this practice could have supported both her performance and recovery across the many sports she played. Looking back, Abby wishes she had been introduced to yoga earlier in life, as it may have provided healthier coping tools during her formative years. In her first year of college, she was prescribed anti-anxiety medication without meaningful exploration of alternative or complementary approaches for supporting mental health. This experience deepened her curiosity about holistic pathways to healing and ultimately shaped her commitment to offering yoga as a supportive, integrative practice for others.
Abby's vision is to spread awareness of the benefits of yoga through movement therapy, multidimensional wellness & nervous system regulation. While educating her clients on physical on their own physical movement patterns, she combines this with techniques to heal the nervous system through yoga that can be applied in everyday life. She knows how powerful this practice can be to take others out of the overthinking, stress & worry state while guiding them into a state of rest & relaxation.
Practicing yoga with Abby is an invitational, supportive experience grounded in trauma-informed care and deep respect for individual autonomy. Her classes emphasize choice-based language, thoughtful modifications, and a steady encouragement to listen inward rather than strive for external ideals. Students are guided to move at their own pace, honoring what their bodies need in each moment, while feeling safe, seen, and supported. Abby creates a calm, non-judgmental space where awareness, self-trust, and nervous system regulation are prioritized, allowing yoga to become a practice of reconnection, resilience, and embodied ease.
